THE HARDEST PART FOR ME IS ACTUALLY THE NONFICTION PLACES IN THE STORY, I PUT SOME LANDMARKS FROM IRELAND AND FLORIDA IN THE STORY. SOME OF THE LANDMARKS I COULD ONLY DESCRIBE FROM STORIES OR PICTURES BECAUSE I HADNT BEEN THERE. I GREW UP IN FLORIDA SO THOSE LANDMARKS LIKE THE SCHOOL WERE PLACES I HAD BEEN TO. I'M JUST HOPING Ireland NATIVES ARENT CALLING ME NAMES FOR SCREWING SOMETHING UP.
Can you give us a short synopsis?
LET'S SAY CLIFF NOTES?
GARRITT WAKES UP ON HIS 16TH BIRTHDAY FINDS OUT HIS WHOLE FAMILY HAS HIDDEN A HUGE SECRET...THEY ARE LEPRECHAUNS. HIS GRANDPARENTS MAKE HIM MOVE TO IRELAND TO TEACH HIM HOW TO BE A LEPRECHAUN, BUT GARRITT GETS PULLED INTO AN EVIL PLOT TO KIDNAP OTHER LEPRECHAUNS TO TAKE THEIR SPECIAL ABILITIES (GIFTS) AWAY.
GARRITT COMES OUT OF HIS SHELL LEARNING TO BE A LEADER AND MORE CONFIDENT IN HIMSELF. HE FIGHTS FOR WHAT HE BELIEVES IS RIGHT AND RESISTS THE 'EASY ROAD' TO BEING BAD.
What inspired you to write this book?
I WAS HAVING STRANGE DREAMS WHILE PRGNANT, I KEPT THINKING 'OMG MY SON IS A LEPRECHAUN WHAT DID I DO?' The dreams wouldn't stop, so I decided I needed to write them down as soon as I woke up, EVENTUALLY I SAW IT CONTINUED EACH NIGHT AND MY DREAMS WERE “READING” ME A BEDTIME STORY I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE IT WITH ANYONE THAT WANTED TO READ IT.
How many hours a day do you spend writing?
I TRY TO WRITE AT LEAST AN HOUR A DAY, MORE IF I CAN. I DO WORK FULL TIME & HAVE TWO LITTLE BOYS ( MY OLDEST IS 7 AND YOUNGEST IS 4 MONTHS) SO I'M A BIT BEHIND ON WHAT I WANT DONE, BUT I AM NOT GIVING IT UP, JUST MOVING SLOWLY WHILE I CHASE MY LITTLE LEPRECHAUNS AROUND.
