What is the hardest part of being an author?
Not having enough hours in the day. I think when you get a book in your head you want to devote every waking minute to it. For me anyway, running errands and household chores only take me away from my book.
Can you give us a short synopsis of Rival Seduction?
Heather Phillips is a woman with a painful past. Her family was struck by tragedy and she carries the guilt with her, hence keeping her from committing to anyone. When Grant Crowley enters her life it is as a competitor in the show ring. They are both fierce and determined, but once they find common ground, a bitter rivalry turns sexual, but it is the relationship part they have problems with. They have to find a way to make it work inside and outside of the show ring.
What inspired you to write this book?
I show jumped horses when I was younger and was a determined competitor, and two time state champ. I know the world my characters live in very well, and it also gives me the ability to write of my love of horses. I think it is not something everyone gets to read about.
How many hours per day do you spend on writing?
8-10. It’s a full time job now.
Name your top five favourite books.
The list would tend to be more historical than fiction. I’m a big history buff.
What are you working on now?
I am writing a 3-part series called Blackwell. It is a period piece from the 1880’s and then turns into a modern ghost story with touches of voodoo, murder and mayhem thrown in. It will be out in early 2016.
