Right now, finding the time to write. I am a full-time college student and work as a professional photographer. Sometimes my life gets a bit hectic. On the plus side, I now have 9 books under contract with 2 different publishers.
Can you give us a short synopsis of A Slaughter of Angels?
The book is about a half-angel private investigator named Rian MacCaren who runs The Midnight Agency. He takes on a case that involves five missing women from a local paranormal-style club. While on the case, a serial killer who has contracted his soul out for supernatural abilities starts killing the missing women one by one. Rian also finds out that these women are half-angels likes him and realizes he is on the killers list also. It is up to him to save the women left while trying to stay alive.
What inspired you to write this book?
I have a fascination with the supernatural and mysteries. I love the idea of angels. Not the frilly cherub kind, but the ones you would read about in the Bible that wreck havoc on armies and able to throw Satan in a pit. Plus, the Nephilim (half-angel/half-man) that are mentioned in Genesis are a big part of my fascination.
How many hours per day do you spend writing?
On a good day I can do 2 hours. That gives me about 2,000 words completed. On a bad day...nothing. lol
Name your top five favorite books?
Sword of Shannara (Terry Brooks), Guilty Pleasures (Laurel K. Hamilton), Storm Front (Jim Butcher), Dragons of Autumn Twilight (Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman), and The Stand (Stephen King)
What are you working on now?
I am working on the second book in my Heart of the Dragon Series that was just picked up by Extasy Books. It's a high fantasy/romance saga. I'm also working on Heaven's Prisoners which is hte second book in the Midnight Agency Series.
Title: A Slaughter of Angels
Author: Matthew Angelo
Genre: Paranormal / Crime / Thriller
As the owner of the Midnight Agency, a private investigation company, I handle all sorts of cases that the police are unable to solve. This case was nothing different. Girls from a local club have come up missing and it is up to me, Rian MacCaren, to find them. Only problem is that the bad guy is no longer human. He is something else. That’s what happens when you sell your soul to a demon
Matthew Angelo is a part-time writer and full-time photographer in the Northern Colorado area. In his free time, he likes to watch episodes of Doctor Who, working out, and playing with his dog, a German Shepard named Gunner. He loves all things that deal with photography and enjoys all things paranormal even if he is a bit of a skeptic.
